  • What ages do you accept in your practice?
    Ages 12 and up are welcome as patients.
  • Do you do physicals and preventative care?
    Yes, we suggest having an annual physical for comprehensive exam and to discuss preventative care. Preventing health problems is just as important as treating them. Check ups help build a healthier future.
  • What if I need a refill on my medication?
    Refills are automatically handled for patients who are up to date with exams, blood work and membership cost. Pharmacies can send refill requests or patients can contact our office.
  • What if I need labs or imaging done?
    If bloodwork is needed, the test orders are sent to your preferred lab draw station. If imaging is indicated, we will send the orders to your preferred location. Whether you have health insurance coverage or not, Dr. McFadden will work with you to find the more affordable option.
  • What if I need a referral?
    Dr. McFadden can send referrals and help you find the best specialist for your concerns if needed. For patients who have health insurance, she will help you find a specialist who is in-network with your plan.
  • Will you work with my specialist(s)?
    Yes, we will work with your specialists. Dr. McFadden will keep your medical team informed and also request their notes/results to ensure she is up to date with your health needs.
  • How long are patient appointments?
    Length of office visits vary based on the patient's needs. If you are in a hurry and just need her to look at a rash, it may be 10 minutes spent at the office. If it is your annual physical, you will be scheduled for an hour time slot to make sure all your questions are addressed.
  • How do patients get in touch with Dr. McFadden?
    Dr. McFadden is available in-office, through telehealth visits, by telephone, text and email.
  • What if I need help after hours?
    Dr. McFadden is available after hours by phone for urgent needs.
  • What happens if Dr. McFadden is away on vacation or otherwise unavailable?
    If unavailable, Dr. McFadden will arrange for coverage and you will receive information for the covering physician.
  • Can I use my FSA or HSA to join Fort Worth Direct Care?
    Yes, you can use your FSA or HSA to join. Because we are classified as a medical clinic with a licensed physician, you can use your HSA or FSA plan for the membership cost.
  • How is Direct Patient Care different from Concierge Medicine?
    Concierge medicine often comes with a gallery of additional testing included with a membership fee on top of what your insurance pays for your visits to the office. Direct Patient Care could be called ‘insurance free’ and allows more freedom in how we approach patient care.
  • Are there any extra fees?
    No, there are no extra fees outside the membership cost for the services provided by the office.
  • Do I have to pay the membership fee all at once?
    The membership fee can be paid annually or you can split the payments into every 6 months.
  • Is the membership fee tax deductible?
    If you itemize your medical expenses on your tax returns, the membership fee may be deductible. Check with your tax advisor.
  • Is there a limit on how many visits I can have in a year?
    No, there is not a limit on how many visits you have in a year.
  • How will you get my previous medical records?
    When medical records are needed, we will request them directly from your other providers or medical facility.
  • Can you send my medical records to another provider or office?
    Yes, we are able to send your medical records to other providers when you request it.
  • Will Dr. McFadden take care of me if I am in the hospital?
    Dr. McFadden does not provide inpatient hospital or rehabilitation facility care. She prefers to stay in touch with you during these times though.
  • Will Dr. McFadden come to my house?
    No, Dr. McFadden does not do home visits.
  • I am interested. Now what?
    Give the office a call (817) 292-3035. Dr. McFadden prefers to meet potential patients before they sign up for membership.
